15 more police teams for probing Aluthgama and Beruwala incidents.
Fifteen more police squads have been appointed for probing the incident that had occurred at Aluthgama and Beruwala.
Police media spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana told our news team that the aim of this was to expedite investigations and bring the suspects speedily before law.
Prior to this, five Investigation Squads including the CID and the Colombo Crimes Division had been appointed for probing the incidents that had taken place recently in Aluthgama and Beruwala.
The police media spokesman said that accordingly, there were 20 police squads by now for probing these incidents.
Even by now 58 suspects have been arrested with regard to this incident, and 35 out of them have been remanded.
Police media spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana requested that if anyone possesses any video footage or other photographs that could aid identifying the suspects relevant to these incidents, these items be provided to the relevant probing officers.
