Midwives island wide stay away from duties
All Midwives island-wide have decided to refrain from field duty from today.
This decision has been taken in protest against the circular the Health Secretary had recently issued with regard to the subject.
The circular the Health Secretary Sudarmaa Karunaaratne issued says that it is the responsibility of all Health sector staff to act according to the instructions contained in the circulars.
The Health Secretary has informed through the relevant circular that, in particular, wearing of uniform, reporting for duty and signing the attendance register should take place properly.
