Govt. allocates Rs 200 million to reconstruct damaged houses in Beruwala & Aluthgama.
The government states that they have allocated 200 million rupees for the renovation of the houses damaged following the incidents of Aluthgama and Beruwala.
This was announced during a meeting held this morning at Kalutara District Secretariat.
The meeting was held under the patronage of Minister of Resettlement Gunaratne Weerakone, with the participation of the Ministers representing Kalutara District as well as Police and Army officials in charge of the area.
It was decided to hand over 50 million rupees to Kalutara District Secretary and 150 million rupees to the Army.
Our correspondent stated that the damaged houses in Aluthgama, Beruwala, Welipanna, Kalutara and Bentara will be renovated commencing from tomorrow.
The initiative will be supported by the 3 forces.
Meanwhile, police has requested the politicians not to allow anyone to take law to their hands.
