Nearly one thousand Rajarata University students locked a group of teachers including their vice chancellor yesterday at 3pm forcing them to remove the class suspension that the university authorities imposed on 28 students six months ago.

The Vice Chancellor and the teachers were released after they agreed to six conditions including taking a decision regarding the current issue at the Senate meeting to be held on the 10th of next month.

He has also agreed to announce the Senate decision on the 11th, re-open the University as soon as possible, not to take disciplinary action against student activists and allow the media to enter the university.
