President Mahinda Rajapaksa has agreed to assist in every possible way to develop the education system of Maldives.

This was when the President met with Maldivian Vice President Dr. Mohommad Jameel Ahmed yesterday in Kurumba  island.

The Maldivian Vice President had requested assistance in developing schools and higher education in Maldives.

President Rajapaksa who was on an official visit to the Maldives met with former Maldivian President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom and Maldivian President Abdul Yameen Abdul Gayoom as well.

3 agreements of bilateral importance were also signed.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa today will leave for Seychelles following an invitation.

The President is expected to declare open the Sri Lankan Embassy in Seychelles.
