A slight change in the prevailing weather in the south-western part is expected within next few days.

Several spells of showers will occur in the Western, Central and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts.

Showers may spread to the North-western province too.

Thundershowers are likely at a few places in the Uva and Eastern provinces during the afternoon or evening.

Fairly strong winds can be expected along the western slopes of the Central hills at times.

Sea areas particularly over the shallow sea areas off the coast extending from Tangalle to Batticaloa  via Galle and Hambantota will be very rough at times.

Naval and fishing communities are requested to be vigilant in this regard.
