Police suspect the motive behind the shooting in which two persons were killed yesterday was a consequence of a clash between two drug dealing groups at Andrew-ge Watta in Grandpas.
Police Media Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said information received that persons with connection to drug dealing are among the dead and the injured in the incident.
A motor cyclist and his pillion shot at four persons at Andrew-ge Watta in Grandpas last night.
Two victims died yesterday and two others were admitted to Colombo National Hospital for treatment.
Two police teams led by ASP in Charge of Grandpas area have been deployed to investigate the incident.
The suspects had left their motor cycle on the crime scene, and leading investigating on the available evidence, Police Media Spokesman said that some vital information with regard to the suspect have already been gathered.

Police said two persons were killed and another 2 were critically wounded following a shooting incident in the Grandpass area in Colombo last night.
Police spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said the wounded persons have been admitted to the Colombo National Hospital and are said to be in critical condition.
He stated that the shooting had taken place at around 8.30pm last night and that Grandpass Police is conducting further investigations.
