Several UNP MP's meet Election commissioner.
A group of UNP MPs are having a discussion with the Election Commissioner over the decision to move three seats which currently come under the Badulla district to the Moneragala district in the Uva Provincial Council election to be held this year.
UNP Deputy Leader Joseph Michael Perera and party legal counsel Attorney-at-law Daya Pelpola have also joined the team.
Before the meeting with Election commissioner, the UNP MPs said that they would question the Commissioner about the basis to move seats from Badulla to Moneragala.
They also said they would take legal action against the decision if the Commissioner’s reasons are found to be unsatisfactory.
Uva Provincial Council consists of 34 seats including two bonus seats. Among them 18 members for the Badulla district and 14 members for the Moneragala district were elected under the 2013 voter registration list.
