NFF Leader Minister Wimal Weerawansa said that there is no need to quit the government as the government has already accepted the 12 proposals submitted by his party.

The 12 proposals passed during the NFF national convention were handed over to the President as well as religious leaders recently.

After his proposals were passed at the convention, Minister Weerawansa said his party would quit the government if the proposals were not implemented.

The 4th proposal out of the 12, states that neither South Africa nor any other foreign representative should be allowed to intervene in the power devolution process in Sri Lanka.

In this backdrop South African President Jacob Zuma’s special representative and Vice President of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa arrived in the country in order to empower the reconciliation process.
