Nurses union warns about a scarcity of blood collecting triple packs
The Government Nursing Officers’ Association says that there is a scarcity of Triple pack blood bags which are used to collect blood from donors.
The Chairman of the GNOA Saman Rathnapriya said that these blood packs are essential to separate the blood components.
He further noted that due to this reason there is a decrease in the production of plasmas which could lead to a scarcity of plasmas.
When we made inquiries in this regard Deputy Minister of Health Lalith Dissanayake said there is no such scarcity of triple packs.
Meanwhile the GNOA says that the committee which was appointed by Secretary to the ministry of Finance Dr. P.B. Jayasundara to resolve issues relating to salary anomalies and the attendance register held discussions with the association last afternoon.
Chairman of the association Saman Rathnapriya said that the discussions concluded in a positive note.
