Visiting South African Vice President Cyril Ramaphosa says he would not act against the international investigation on alleged human rights violations in Sri Lanka.
Ramaphosa expressed these views during a discussion with Northern Provincial Council Chief Minister C.V. Wigneswaran this afternoon.
Ramaphosa who flew to Jaffna was received by Minister Duglas Devananda and Northern Provincial Governor G.A. Chandrasiri at the Alfred Dorai Appa Stadium this afternoon.
Having met the Chief Minister, the South African Special Envoy met the Provincial Governor as well.
Before he flew to the North, the South African envoy met TNA representatives including its Leader MP R. Sampandan in Colombo.
The South African Special Envoy who arrived in the country on the invitation extended to him by the government met President Mahinda Rajapaksa and Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe during his stay in the island.
South African Envoy Cyril Ramaphosa who concluded his tour of Sri Lanka is scheduled to leave the country this evening.
