Cabinet paper to be presented tomorrow easing Maths obstacles for A/L
Education Minister Bandula Gunawardana says he would present a Cabinet paper tomorrow seeking approval for O/Level students who failed mathematics to study for A/Levels if they assure a pass in mathematics within two years.
If Cabinet approval is given, the affected students since last year would be benefited by this opportunity.
Addressing a ceremony held at the Medagama Abhaya Vidyalaya in Madampe, Minister Gunawardana expressed his views about the cabinet paper to be presented tomorrow.
The same cabinet paper has sought approval to hold special mathematics classes at schools with over 20 students who failed in the subject.
Our news team contacted an educationist and member of the syllabus development committee of the National Education Institute W. Rathnayake to comment on the necessity of having mathematics as a subject for the Ordinary Level.
