316 houses were partially damaged due to strong winds along with showers that were experienced in Badulla, Nuwara-eliya and Ratnapura districts.

Assistant Director of the National Disaster Management Centre Pradeep Kodippilli stated that strong winds were also experienced in the central hills.

The MET Department stated that the possibility for increasing of South-west monsoonal wind speed up to 70 to 80kmph at times over the country, particularly along the western slopes of the central hills and adjacent sea areas is still high.

Several spells of showers will occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts.
