Indian air force Commander Air Chief Marshal Arun Raha is to arrive in Sri Lanka today for a 3 day visit.

He is scheduled to meet President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Secretary of Defence Gotabaya Rajapksa and the Commanders of the defense forces.

Indian media reported that the air force commander’s visit is aimed at enhancing the military ties between India and Sri Lanka.

The Indian air force commander is also scheduled to visit several Sri Lankan Air Force combat squadrons at the air bases, apart from inspecting some of the training facilities.

The military ties between India and Sri Lanka stand strong even though extremists groups in Tamil Nadu have opposed these ties.

Indian media noted that this was confirmed through the visit of the Indian Air force commander in Sri Lanka.
