Medical tests disrupted due to Paramedics strike
Medical tests of patients have been disrupted due to the current paramedics strike at hospitals in the Western, the Central and the Southern provinces.
The Para Medic Trade Unions Federation launched the strike this morning on several demands including denial of promotions to its members.
Functions of 112 hospitals in the three provinces including Colombo National Hospital, Ragama Teaching Hospital, Kalubovila Teaching Hospital, Karapitiya Teaching Hospital, Matara General Hospital and Peradeniya Teaching Hospital have been crippled due to the strike.
Directors of these hospitals said all medical testing have been disrupted except emergency cases.
Meanwhile the strike launched by paramedics in the provinces of Sabaragamuwa, Uva and North West ended at 7am today.
