A strategy from Denuwara to increase O/level results.
Education Professionals Association charges the Principal of the Iriyagama Puspadana Vidyalaya has committed an irregularity with an ulterior motive to show a higher percentage of O/Level passed students.
The Association charged that the O/L students sitting for the first time have been categorized into two groups, and the names of prospective students have been submitted to the Department of Examination.
Association Secretary Wasantha Dharmasiri said the names of the poor performing students have been included to the name list of the students who are sitting for the second time.
Our news team also attempted to contact the Director of Denuwara Education Circuit W.K. Weerakoon who has instructed Iriyagama Pushpadana Vidyalaya Principal to commit this irregularity.
However our attempt failed as Weerakoon did not answer our calls.
When we contacted Central Provincial Chief Minister Sarath Ekanayake said such an incident has not yet been reported to him.
