He said a group of supporters led by Chief Minister Ranatunga assaulted him with a cricket bat around 5pm yesterday on a dispute over a king coconut tree in his land.

When we contacted Western Provincial Chief Minister Prasanna Ranatunga, he said that he has no house in Rajagiriya.

Meanwhile Western Provincial Council Chief Minister Prasanna Ranatunga’s brother MP Ruwan Ranatunga has complained to Welikada police against G.W. Piyasena charging that the latter scolded him with abusive language.

In his complaint, MP Ruwan Ranatunga stated G.W. Piyasena who lives next door has climbed on his parapet wall around 5pm yesterday, threatened with a knife and scolded his wife and two children with abusive language.

Police Media Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said investigations will be initiated on both complaints.
