Army Media Spokesman Brigadier Ruwan Wanigasuriya said today 26 thousand acres of land area confined for army camps in Jaffna Peninsula has currently been reduced to 6500 acres.

Addressing a media briefing held in Colombo today, he said no land has been taken over by the army whatsoever to put up new army camps.

Army Media Spokesman Wanigasuriya commented on Jaffna land issue in response to certain allegations that the army is taking over private lands to expand Achchuweli Army Camp.
