Police Media Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana states that Incidents similar to the experience of a police constable who was harassed while on duty at Kesbewa town could be the consequences of international pressure.

The constable who engaged in a brawl with two suspects who disobeyed police signal to stop and tried to speed away in their three wheeler is receiving treatment for minor injuries.

Two suspects of the group were arrested by the constable while others fled leaving the three wheeler on the way.

A similar incident was reported earlier from Mt. Lavinia area where a constable was kidnapped and released later at Kalubovila area.

SSP Ajith Rohana said it is revealed that an international conspiracy is operating behind the incidents of this nature.
