Minister Arumugam Thondaman says Ceylon Workers Congress should be given an opportunity to field four candidates in the Uva Provincial Council election under the UPFA ticket.
Accordingly party leader Deputy Minister Muttu Sivalingam said they want to field three candidates for the Badulla district and one candidate for the Moneragala district.
He also said the request in this regard has already been made to the UPFA General Secretary.
Deputy Minister Sivalingama said his party will contest the Uva provincial council alone if his party request is not met by any chance.
Meanwhile NFF former MP Padma Udaya Shantha said his party will also contest alone if defected former NFF Uva Provincial Councilor W.A. Udaya Kumara is given nominations under the UPFA ticket.
