Siritunga's march to Aluthgama ends in Waskaduwa; One injured
Police stopped a peace march organized by the United Socialist Party from Aluthgama, Beruwala to Darga town today.
The representatives of the party were engaged in a march from Narahenpita.
Police stated that the march was stopped at Waskaduwa area in order to maintain peace.
However, the leader of United Socialist Party Siritunga Jayasuriya stated that a group of persons including Buddhist monks protested against the returning party members, causing a clash.
When inquired, Police media spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana expressed his views regarding the incident.
