JVP leader MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake who received minor injuries following a motor accident at Kiri-ella, Ratnapura has been transferred from Ratnapura General Hospital to Colombo National Hospital for further treatment.

The accident occurred when the cab in which the MP was travelling collided head on with a tipper at the S-bend of Ratnapura – Panadura main road in Holipitiya area this noon.

The MP and his driver who travelled in the cab received injuries and were admitted to Ratnapura Hospital.

The MP met with an accident while travelling along Ratnapura – Panadura main road on his way to a meeting in Ratnapura.

The driver of the tipper who received injuries is currently receiving treatment at Ratnapura Hospital, while the tipper has been seized by the police.

JVP leader admitted to Ratnapura Hospital with minor injuries following motor accident


JVP leader MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake has been admitted to Ratnapura General Hospital following a motor accident this afternoon.

According to Ratnapura hospital sources, the MP who received minor injuries after he met with an accident at Kiriella area in Ratnapura is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.

The sources further stated that measures will be taken to transfer the MP to Colombo National Hospital for special treatment.
