President Mahinda Rajapaksa said that the opinions of those who object the good would not make history.

He said those who raised objections when former Minister late C.W.W. Kannangara presented the free education Act are objecting today to the present government’s program to safeguard education.

The President expressed his views during a ceremony to distribute another set of free school uniforms and shoes to students in areas with less facilities in the middle of the year.

The Education Services Ministry has implemented this program under last year budgetary allocation of 1100 million rupees.

Accordingly 642 thousand 292 students of 3944 schools in difficult areas would receive uniforms and shoes.
