A group of minor health staff in a protest in Anuradapura
The group of minor health staff continues their fasting campaign which commenced last evening on the roof of the North Central provincial Health Services Director ’s office in front of Anuradhapura Hospital.
They staged the protest demanding to promote them to the position of the attendants.
The protestors accused that despite working as minor health staff since 1994, they did not receive any promotions thus far, and that persons are recruited for this position under political influence.
The discussions held with the provincial health services Director General Doctor Palitha Bandara last evening were futile.
However, the Director General told our news team that another round of discussion has commenced today with the relevant factions to resolve the matter.
