US says there are problems in implementing religious freedom in SL-Video
The U.S. government stated although Sri Lanka has restored religious freedom, practical problems still exist when implementing such freedom in certain divisions.
The annual report on international religious freedom released by U.S. Secretary of State yesterday stated certain religious factions are neglected and socially suppressed due to their creed, rites and rituals.
The report especially stated about the increasing violence against minority religious groups, attacks on churches and mosques.
The report also stated the American Embassy had informed the Sri Lankan government of its concern about such incidents.
