2 abductors of a businessman arrested in Kiribathgoda
Despite five police teams deployed to trace the abducted 4-year old boy of Meegalaawa, it is unfortunate to report that no reliable information is received so far.
Four masked men who arrived in motor cycles abducted Uvindu Ekanayake from his parents’ care at his home on Monday night.
Police request the pubic to contact North Western Provincial DIG Jagath Abeysiri Gunawardana on his phone No: 071 813 7007 or Nikaweratiya SSP Chandana Alahakoon on 077 47 84 635 if anybody knows whereabouts of the child or his abductors.
However a senior police officer conducting investigations stated no information is received so far even after two days of the abduction.
Meanwhile notices carrying the photograph of Uvindu Ekanayake and his father’s contact numbers have been posted in many places in the area asking public assistance to trace the boy.
In this backdrop, a resident in Negombo has complained to police this afternoon that his son was abducted.
However the child was later found in the care of his mother who estranged from his husband and living in a nearby house.
Meanwhile Kiribathgoda police arrested two suspects who abducted a businessman and forced him to withdraw money from his bank account.
The businessman of Kahawatta was abducted with his vehicle in Balangoda town on last Tuesday.
Police Media Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said the abductors drove the businessman to a private bank in Kiribathgoda and forced him to withdraw 1.2 million rupees from his bank account.
