Health Minister summons hospital directors & suppliers to inquire about malpractices
Health Minister Maithreepala Sirisena is prepared to probe the malpractices which occur during the purchase of drugs and equipment for hospitals.
The Minister stated this while speaking during a meeting held between drug suppliers in Colombo today.
The minister revealed that a certain chemical regent from the same company has been issued to one hospital for 1485 rupees while the same drug was issued to another hospital for 10 thousand 275 rupees.
The Minister further stated that measures will be taken to issue drugs and equipment to hospitals for a common price.
