It has been revealed that the Blue Safire that was confiscated from an interdicted police officer who was going to sell the precious stone for 40 million rupees is priceless.

The relevant case was taken up for hearing yesterday at the Anuradapura Magistrates court.

The precious stone which was seized on the 9th of July by the Anuradapura Police weighed 28 grams.

During the hearing the officers of the Gem and Jewellery authority and the Archaeology department stated that the precious stone is priceless due to its historical value.
