Preparation of nomination papers of main political parties in the final phase.
The main political parties contesting for the Uva provincial council elections are currently in the final phase of completing nomination papers.
The candidates of the National Freedom Front which is contesting separately from the Freedom Alliance, signed their nomination papers at the party headquarters in Battaramulla today.
Leader of the NFF minister Wimal Weerawansa was also present at the event.
The media spokesperson of the NFF Mohammed Muzammil said that the party nominations will be handed over on the 6th of this month.
The JVP has completed the nominations preparations activities.
The United National Party has commenced the nomination signing activities.
Reports say that the party will name former parliamentarian Ravi Samaraweera as the Badulla district leader while Ananda Kumarasiri will be named as the Monaragala district leader.
Media spokesperson of the UNP parliamentarian Gayantha Karunathilake expressed these views about the nomination preparation activities.
The nomination preparation activities of the United People’s Freedom Alliance have been nearly completed.
Meanwhile the Elections Secretariat said that the government officers who are casting postal votes for the Uva provincial council should hand over their application forms to the respective election officers before the 6th of August.
