Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said today that an inquiry would be held with regard to the article, on letters written by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha Jayram to Indian Premier Narendra Modi, published on the Defence Ministry Website.

Addressing Indian parliament she said Indian government would condemn the developments on the particular article, and lodge the government protest over the article with the High Commissioner to Sri Lanka in New Delhi.

The Speaker had to adjourn parliament several occasions as a tense situation erupted in parliament during the question sessions today over the Jayalalitha Modi article issue.

However the Defence Ministry has removed the controversial article from its website and extended unqualified apology to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha Jayaram and Indian Premier Narendra Modi.

Meanwhile, A junior cricket team from Sri Lanka, which arrived in India to participate in a private tournament, was sent back today owing to security concerns.

The 16-member team had arrived from Colombo last night and were put up at an accommodation in the city.

They were denied permission to participate in the tournament this morning owing to security reasons.

The Under-15 private tournament is scheduled to be held from August 4th to 7th.

Meanwhile, Members of Tamil film industry, staged a protest against Sri Lanka in Chennai today.

They protested a recent article in Sri Lankan Defence Ministry website, which had comments about Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in bad taste.

Top stars including Vijay and Suriya, veterans Seeman, Kalaipuli S Thanu and Sivakumar among others took part in the agitation.
