The tenure of the Presidential Commission to Investigate into Complaints Regarding Missing Persons has been extended till the 15th of February 2015.

The Commission is headed by Maxwell Parakrama.

Last month President Rajapaksa further expanded the role of the Commission and a 3 member advisory panel was also appointed.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa speaking to heads of media institutions at Temple Trees yesterday stated that the new panel was appointed to provide legal advice for the commission and this panel will not interfere with the ongoing investigation.
