NFF which was isolated in Badulla, joins with UPFA in Moneragala
The NFF which decided earlier to contest alone for the Uva Provincial Council election has now come to an agreement with the Alliance again.
However NFF handed over its nominations for the Badulla district under its own election symbol.
NFF former MP Padma Udaya Shantha first said his party would not contest under the UPFA ticket if NFF defected Provincial Councilor W.A. Udaya Kumara is given nomination to contest the Uva Provincial Council under the UPFA ticket.
Later NFF Leader and Minister Wimal Weerawansa told a media briefing in Colombo on the 29th of last month that his party would contest alone for the Uva Provincial Council election.
However a meeting between Minister Wimal Weerawansa and several senior UPFA ministers was held day before yesterday.
It is reported that the discussion was centered on the implementation of the 12 proposals by the NFF.
Media Spokesperson of the NFF Mohommad Musammil stated that they will hand over nominations for the Moneragala district yesterday.
Meanwhile, NFF former MP Padma Udaya Shantha who was to contest for Moneragala from the NFF was admitted to hospital yesterday due to a sudden illness.
