Report to President after investigating the graphic of India on Defence Ministry web.-Video
Army Media Spokesman Brigadier Ruwan Wanigasuriya says publishing the graphic picture of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and Indian Premier on the Defence Ministry website will be probed and a report will be produced to the President and the Defense Secretary.
Addressing a media briefing held in Colombo this morning, Brigadier Wanigasuriya said there was no defamatory content in the article published on the Defense Ministry website.
A tense situation erupted in Indian parliament last week over an article published about Indian Premier Narendra Modi and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha Jeyaram on the Defence Ministry website.
Later Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj told parliament that she will summon Sri Lankan High Commissioner to New Delhi with regard to the incident.
Tamil Nadu cinema artists also held a protest against this incident in Chennai.
However the Defence Ministry website later extended its unqualified apology for the incident.
