Mahiyanaganaya magistrates court has ordered the police today to arrest and produce before court a Badulla district UPFA parliamentarian.

He is accused of obstructing the duties of the officials of the elections department.

Police media spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana said that the magistrate ordered to produce the parliamentarian before court, before the 26th of this month.

The parliamentarian has handed over the nominations of his brother who was a former provincial minister yesterday.

Thereafter he arrived from Mahiyanganaya to Badulla in an illegal propaganda parade.

The parliamentarian has reprimanded and threatened the elections department officials who tried to stop the parade.
