The Entomologists note that there is an unexpected increase in the number of dengue patients during the month of August.

Secretary of the Assistant Entomologists Association Najith Sumanasena said the increase is mainly from the Western province.

Meanwhile he also revealed that certain government officials who have been deployed for mosquito eradication campaigns to implement the law, are taking bribes from the public.
