The Lanka Teachers Association stated if the Education Ministry tries to take legal action against teacher associations, it will follow suit.

It is reported that the Education Ministry has decided to take legal action against the parties which behave in a disturbing manner while public examinations are being held.

When our news team contacted Ministry Secretary Anura Disanayake said his ministry is taking advice from the Attorney General with regard to this matter.

The Education Ministry pointed out that teacher associations have criticized public examinations when they were being conducted and attempted to disrupt them on several past occasions.

The Ministry Secretary said a similar attempt was made when the Year-5 Scholarship Examination was held last year.
