The Colombo Magistrate’s Court remanded doctor Nimal Gamage who was arrested after a female doctor died at his cosmetic surgery clinic in Bambalapitiya until August 18th.

A special investigative team of the National Pharmaceutical Authority raided the particular cosmetic surgery clinic located on Visakha Road Bambalapitiya yesterday.

The victim, 47-year old doctor P.A. Priyangi of Navala was given the anti-aging jab at 4pm day before yesterday.

She died a few minutes after the injection, and what is significance is that the victim had served as a specialist attached to the Plastic Surgery Unit of the Lady Ridgeway hospital for children.

Police media spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana stated that initial investigations have revealed that the deceased doctor has paid 100 thousand rupees for the surgery.
