Existing Laws to regulate professional services of doctor's not sufficient: Plastic surgery specialists
Plastic Surgery Specialists Association stated that the existing laws to regulate the professional services of specialist doctors and MBBS doctors are not sufficient.
Sri Lanka Plastic Surgery Specialists Association member Dr. Kolitha Karunadasa told our news team there are problems of assessing the quality of service provided by medical professionals.
Commenting on the incident where a female doctor died after she was given an anti-aging jab at a beauty parlour in Bambalapitiya, Dr. Kolitha Karunadasa further explained the situation to our news team.
When our news team contacted Health Ministry Additional Secretary Dr. Amal Harsha said that there is a program to regulate the import of cosmetic equipment and beauty treatment.
He said the ministry expect to expand the service further in the future.
