Suspect remanded after attempting to sell a lightning conductor for Rs10 million

The suspect who stole a 200 year old lightning conductor from a Norwood Estate bungalow and attempted to sell it for 10 million rupees has been remanded until the 1st of next month.

According to police media spokesman’s office, the 44 year old suspect is a resident of Samanala-gala area, Hatton.

Gampola STF arrested the suspect following a tip off received by the police.

The motor vehicle which was transporting the lightning conductor along Hatton – Colombo main road has also been seized by the police.
