Wickramabahu exposes the reason to attack the JVP in UVA.
A JVP candidate who is contesting the Uva Provincial Council and his two supporters were injured when an attack was unleashed on them by two UPFA candidates and their supporters today at Haldummulla in Haputale.
JVP candidate K. Selvaraj told our news team the UPFA group attacked him and his supporters while they were setting up an election propaganda board at Haldummulla town.
The injured are now receiving treatment at Diyatalawa hospital.
Meanwhile JVP has complained to the Haputale police station with regard to the attack.
Meanwhile a similar attack was launched on a propaganda stage set up by JVP at Badal-kumbura recently.
Addressing a media conference, UPFA General Secretary Minister Susil Premajayantha said the Badal-kumbura incident aggravated further due to the negligence of police.
Meanwhile the Election Commissioner said yesterday that he wrote to the IGP for the second time with regard to the election related violence in the Uva Province.
At the same time, Nava Sama Samaja Party Leader Dr. Wickramabadhu Karunarathna expressed his views about continuous attack on JVP branch offices.
