The Joint Field Training Exercise Cormorant Strike 2014 will be held for the 5th consecutive year with the participation of military personnel from the Tri Forces in Baticalo and Trincomalee areas from September 3rd to 25th.

This joint training exercise popularly known as the 'Diyakawa' mission has aimed at providing training to Armed Forces personnel to act in emergency situations and during times when there is a threat to national security.

Approximately 2,100 Armed Forces personal representing the Tri Forces,including foreign military personnel from Bangladesh, Maldives and Pakistan will participate in the training programme.

The joint training exercise comprise lessons of infiltrating enemy areas, recognizing the enemy, attacking and defeating the enemy on the battlefield through land, air and water battles.
