Major General Janaka Perera's killer jailed for 20 years

A former LTTE cornel Shanmuganadan Sudaharan who pleaded guilty for the murder of 29 persons including Major General Janaka Perera was sentenced to 20 years rigorous imprisonment by the Anuradhapura High Court today.

Present North Western Provincial High Court Judge Sunanda Kumara Rathnayake who held the same post of the North Central Province earlier gave the verdict today for conspiring, aiding and abetting suicide bombers to commit the crime.

29 persons including Major General Janaka Perera while participating in the opening of the Opposition Leader’s Office on the first lane of Dharmapala Mawatha near Anuradhapura Old Bus Stand on October 6th, 2008 were killed in the LTTE suicide attack.
