Four individuals died yesterday when a three-wheeler and a cab collided head-on near the Kekirawa town, along the Kekirawa-Anuradhapura main road.

Police said that two women both aged 56 are also among the deceased.

The injured have succumbed to their injuries after they were admitted to the Kekirawa hospital.

Investigations are underway to arrest the cab driver who has fled the scene after the incident.

The 47 year old driver of the three-wheeler and another 42 year old individual are also among the deceased.

They have been identified as residents of the Alawwa and Mee-wewa areas.

Police media spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana said that the bodies are currently lying at the Kekirawa hospital.
