Indian Coast Guard arrests five Sri Lankan fishermen near Chennai coast

The Indian Coast Guard has arrested five Sri Lankan fishermen along with their boat for allegedly crossing the International Maritime Boundary Line and fishing in Indian waters off the Chennai coast.

Indian Coast Guard ship Rajdhwaj and its fixed wing aircraft on routine patrolling duty has apprehended the Sri Lankan fishing boat "Sanoj" with five crew members about 52 nautical miles North East of Chennai.

About 300 kg of tuna fish had also been seized from the Sri Lankan fishermen by the Indian Coast Guard.
