The parliament was adjourned without debate until September 23rd due to the heated situation erupted in the house this afternoon.

A vague situation erupted after the UNP presented the adjournment debate today on whether the Temples and Religious Sites should be separated from the Bim Saviya Act.

The adjournment debate was presented by UNP MP Lakshman Kiri Ella, and when it was about to be taken up for debate, Prime Minister D.M. Jayarathna stated that there is no such Act called Bim Saviya.

This situation took a new turn in house followed by arguments, and the proceedings were adjourned for five minutes.

Later Deputy Speaker Chandima Weerakkody adjourned parliament until September 23rd stating the adjournment debate was not presented accurately.
