The National Dengue Control Unit says that there is an increase in the spread of dengue in the urban areas.

The unit points out that due this reason public should take precautions.

Meanwhile in line with the dengue Control Week which ends on the 16th of September, 66, 578 houses and dwellings were inspected during the past 3 days.

The Director of the Dengue Control Unit Dr. Hasitha Tissera said that 3, 137 mosquito breeding grounds have been identified during the inspections and 1,111 individuals have been prosecuted.
