Another child of Kurunagala is missing.
The Gokarella police received a complaint that a 12-year old boy of Ibbagamuwa is missing since last night.
The boy has been identified as Ramesh Maduranga of Polpitigama in Kurunegala.
He had been living in Ibbagamuwa Meghagiri Viharaya expecting to become a novice monk at the time of the disappearance last night.
Meanwhile Meghagiri Viharaya Chief incumbent Peddawa Sumanaratana Thera told our news team that he learnt the boy was missing after a Pinkama held in the temple last night.
The boy’s father Palitha Rupasinghe told our news team that the incumbent monk is one of his relatives, and the boy was kept under his guardianship 8 months ago in order to ordain the boy as a novice monk.
When our news team contacted Gokarella police, one of its senior officers said investigation have already been initiated to trace the boy.
Earlier similar incidents of disappearances of children were reported from Kurunegala, at Meegalewa in Galgamuwa and at Ganewatta in Wellawa areas.
