All schools in Uva closed tomorrow. Liquor shops closed on Saturday.
The Election Secretariat stated that everything is in place for the polls in the Uva Provincial Council.
The transport of ballot boxes to 834 polling stations will commence from the Badulla and Moneragala District Secretariats at 7 in the morning tomorrow.
The Election Secretariat further noted that election officials will also travel to the respective polling stations at the same time.
The Secretariat officials said a polls rehearsal will be held tomorrow afternoon, and an awareness program for the representatives of the contesting parties was held at the Election Secretariat today.
Nearly nine hundred and forty thousand voters of Badulla and the Moneragala districts have been qualified to cast their vote in the election on September 20th.
At the same time, 12,500 government servants and another 12,500 police personnel including 1000 STF and intelligence service personnel have been deployed on election duty.
In addition, all schools in the two districts will be kept close tomorrow for the election.
Besides, the Excise Department announced that all wine stores in the two districts will be kept close on the polls day, September 20.
Meanwhile Paffrel Organization Executive Director Rohana Hetti Arachchi stated during a media conference held in Colombo today that the role of certain government servants assigned on election duty is in question in the recent past.
