Police says that special security arrangements are in place in view of the Uva Provincial Council elections and also during the post election period.

Accordingly a 12,000 strong police force has been deployed on duty.

Police Media Spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana stated that 232 patrols will take place and also stated that bail will not be granted for those who violate election laws.
