Highest Preferential votes to Shasheendra Rajapakse from Monaragala; Hareen leads Badulla.-UVA PC Poll 2014 -Video
The preferential votes obtained by Uva Provincial election candidates were released this afternoon.
Accordingly UPFA Chief Ministerial candidate Shashindra Rajapaksa has topped the preferential vote list of the Moneragala district by securing 96 thousand 619 votes.
At the same UNP Chief Ministerial candidate Harin Fernando topped the UNP preferential vote list of the Badulla district by securing 173 thousand 993 votes.
JVP Chief Ministerial candidate Samantha Vidyarathna was able to obtain 14 thousand 161 preferential votes from the Badulla district.
Kumarasiri Rathnayake has secured 59 thousand 285 preferential votes to come second in the UPFA list of the Moneragala district while Udara Soyza obtained 48 thousand 512 preferential votes.
Meanwhile Ananda Kumarasiri has topped the UNP preferential vote list of the Moneragala district by securing 24 thousand 421 preferential votes.
JVP candidate R.M. Jayawardana of the Moneragala district has obtained 5 thousand 795 preferential votes to come first in his party list.
At the same time, UPFA candidate Anura Vidanagama has obtained the highest number of preferential votes from the Badulla district.
He has secured 59 thousand 316 preferential votes.
Another candidate Chamara Sampath has obtained 34 thousand 337 preferential votes to become the second in the list while Sendil Thondaman has become third in the UPFA list by obtaining 31 thousand 858 preferential votes.
UNP Chief Ministerial candidate Harin Fernando secured the highest number of preferential votes in the Badulla district.
His preferential vote count is 173 thousand 858.
Meanwhile Velayudan Rudradeepan has obtained 37 thousand 457 preferential votes to become the second in the list while Sunil Jayantha Kannangara secured 28 thousand 29o preferential votes to become the third in the UNP list.
The United People’s Freedom Alliance secured victory at the Uva Provincial Council election.
Accordingly the UPFA obtained 349 thousand 906 votes securing 19 seats including 2 bonus seats and the UNP obtained 274 thousand 773 votes securing 13 seats.
The JVP obtained 2 seats as they polled 36 thousand 580.
The UPFA managed to secure victory in all 3 electorates of Moneragala.
Therefore the UPFA obtained 140 thousand 850 votes securing 8 seats, while the UNP obtained 77 thousand 065 to win 5 seats and the JVP obtained 15 thousand 955 votes to get one seat.
According to the final result of the Badulla district, the UPFA obtained 209 thousand 056 votes and secured 9 seats.
The UNP came in 2nd with 8 seats as they obtained 197 thousand 708 votes and the JVP obtained 20 thousand 625 votes which was sufficient to secure 1 seat.
